When two bombs explode at St. John's High School in Houston, psychotherapists Tom and Andrea Tolman assist their friend, Houston Police Detective Mark Lane, in the intense investigation. They need to find the terrorists before they can strike again! Andrea is a former nun who left her order to marry Tom, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with expertise in treating adolescents, and in understanding destructive religious cults and terrorist groups. After 9/11, the couple and the detective became friends when they helped a family threatened by the father's involvement with a Satanic cult. Now, ten years later, they are challenged by these local bombers. The story explains the depth of psychology as well as the powerful motivations of the American homegrown terrorists and their group. About the Author After attending Wheaton College, Peter Alan Olsson trained at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Following his internship in mixed medicine at the University of Vermont, he took a psychiatry residency at Baylor (1968 to 1971), and later was a psychiatrist at Oakland Naval Hospital from 1971 to 1973, where he ran the substance abuse unit and worked with POWs returning from Vietnamese prisons. Dr. Olsson graduated from the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute in Houston and practiced psychiatry and psychotherapy while teaching psychotherapy in Houston for 25 years. He was an assistant professor of psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School and an adjunct professor of clinical psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Olsson Captivating and Insightful new book

Dr. Peter A. Olsson has, once again, written a captivating novel regarding Islamic terrorism that alerts us all, including the American Muslim community, about how a local grown terrorist can develop. Dr. Olsson has shown how even the most innocuous looking American can harbor resentment and how that weakness can be exploited by a local Imam who is bent on destroying Western civilization and all infidels. The plot is totally believable and most of us can see how easily disenchanted Americans can be persuaded to take up the reins of terrorism. The effect is devastating to all.

At the Boston Marathon of 2013 we saw the real life effects of two locally grown Islamic terrorists and just how easily and devastatingly cruel their unjust and exploitive actions can be. Dr. Olsson further points out how this is not isolated to just one case, but in his brilliantly conceived and expertly explained “Afterword” he goes into detail relating how Osama Bin Laden developed his deep seated hatred for Western Civilization. But, even more importantly, Dr. Olsson has given us a formula for discovering the warning signs of how homegrown terrorists develop and, most importantly, tells us his solution to combating this growing evil.

Simply put, this novel goes way beyond the bounds of a normal entertaining book. It gives clear and cogent guidance that should be required reading for all Americans and citizens of all countries. I fear Dr. Olsson may very well be a prophet but I pray he is not and that his dire and timely warning in this excellently written book serves as a wake-up call to all right thinking people.

Youths need truthful mature adult leaders who provide noble ideals, worthy goals, and clear
moral and spiritual values. An important corollary is that adults need to be admired by
youths. Such admiration helps adults to imagine good things for their legacy, as well as the
future leadership of the community. Altruistic adult leadership requires what Erik H. Erickson
called generativity, which is an abiding concern for the development, wellbeing, and creative
leadership of the next generation. It is largely spiritual in nature. For authentic ideals and values
to endure, they must be taught by example, not preached at political speeches. They necessarily
transcend the importance of a leader’s personal wealth , power, and prestige. They also
high light the power and vulnerability of love as leadership. Democracy in America, will decline
and fail without God’s grace and liberty-loving leaders like Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy,
Martin Luther King Jr., and Ronald Reagan. Their Christian faith shone through and beyond
their speechifying. ”
In my novel I attempt to explore the frightening psychological birth and development of homegrown terrorists. Adolescent and young adult homegrown terrorists like Mike and Troy are not monsters but their personal, spiritual and family conflicts and pain can spur their search for a radical Islamist identity. .I hope my book can .help in the early identification and prevention of homegrown terrorism.
